Remarks from Students and Parents
Patrick Boland has been the piano teacher for my three children over the past four years. Mr. Boland's kind yet motivating style of teaching has brought about a tremendous love for my music in my children as well as helped them each achieve their personal best week after week. - - Donna A.
Fun, exciting and energizing are the words that can describe Patrick's teaching style. Every lesson with Patrick opens a new door to the music world, that in turn only causes a further interest in piano. Due to his excellent instruction in piano I not only became fascinated with music and its many parts, but decided to continue my studies through college at Berklee School of Music. From fake sheets to classical master pieces Patrick can teach it all. -- Nathaniel K., 18
For the past three years Patrick Boland has taught piano to my son. Patrick is a skilled and talented pianist who has a great way with children. He has made learning the piano enjoyable and easy. My son has progressed from the very basic, but fun pieces to classical pieces that he finds challenging, but likes. Patrick takes a personal interest in his students and includes an element of fun in every lesson. -- Mary Ann C.
Patrick's nice, he has a sense of humor, and he's a good teacher, too. At first I didn't know anything, but now I know a ton. Even when it gets hard, he makes it seem easier. -- Zach, 9
This letter recommends Patrick Boland as a piano teacher. My children took piano lessons from Mr. Boland for approximately 3 years. Our family's goal with lessons was a little unusual. We wanted to instill in our children a love of music and help them learn to play piano purely recreationally and as a jumping off point for the study other instruments later in life. We were not concerned with our children becoming professional musicians. Consequently, we were more concerned that the lessons maintain a playful, fun tone than that the children become accomplished musicians. Mr. Boland respected our wishes and kept the lessons light-hearted. He also encouraged the children to compose, and both children enjoy writing songs as a result of Mr. Boland's gentle encouragement. The children learned volumes but never felt pressured. Consequently, recital time was a fun time to show what they had learned rather than a stress-filled demand to perform. Musically, the children progressed steadily. Both feel confidant in their abilities.
At recital times we were able to hear Mr. Boland's more serious students and we were always impressed. I highly recommend Mr. Boland as a teacher for both the serious piano student and those who, like my children, are less ambitious. -- Paula P.
